About Jasmine:
My name is Jasmine Thompson, born on August 1, 2009, to loving parents Deanglo and Dannelee Thompson. With their unwavering support, along with the encouragement of family and friends, I determined to pursue my goals with passion and purpose.
My educational journey began at Sunflower Academy where I began to “shine”. I later transferred to Garvin Tynes Primary School, and there, continued to press forward with resilience and hope, attaining impressive academics and becoming one of their proud prefects. As I pursued secondary education at my beloved high school, Temple Christian, I remained committed to excellence in academics, successfully attaining seven BJC examinations with B grades, consistently maintaining an honour roll status and becoming the Head Girl for the academic school year 2025-2026.
While I am immensely proud of these accomplishments, I must admit that there is another thing that equally defines me, and that is my passion for Track and Field. I have been an athlete, since four years old, inspired by my father, who was also an athlete – I guess one can say it runs in the family. Over the years, I have developed a competitive spirit that has led me to many successes, including the BAISS Most Outstanding Female award (2021), a two-time CARIFTA medalist (2024, 2025), and the BAISS 400m hurdles record holder (2025).
I aspire to one day to become a professional athlete, and by God’s grace, make it to the Olympics—bringing home a medal, first for my grandmother, who placed me in track at a young age, as if she knew what I was destined to become, and of course, for my family and country.
Currrently, I am preparing for ten BGCSE examinations and anticipate attaining them all. As Head Girl of my great school, I seek to inspire those around me, to pursue their goals, for dreams can come true—with hard work, grit, and resilience.
Today, I hold dear Ecclesiastes 9:11, a verse that my grandmother dearly loves: “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong…but time and chance happeneth to them of all.” This is my reminder that trials and tribulations may come, but the one who endures will always prevail.
My mantra: Nothing worth having comes easily!

About Delvon:
On May 30th, 2009, Delvon Barton was born to the parents of Anishka and Delvon Barton. He began his primary education at Centreville Primary School where he excelled as a scholar attaining honor roll status his full time there. Not only was he academically inclined, but he also possessed leadership skills which allowed him to obtain the role of Prefect-in-Training in the 5th grade and Head Boy in the 6th grade. Having manners and respect, he was blessed with opportunities to shine in events such as the National Science Talk Competition, National Spelling Bee, and Earth Day Beach Clean-ups.
He continued his pursuit of excellence at D.W. Davis Junior High School, where he maintained honour roll status and set his sights on becoming Head Boy. After applying and meeting all requirements, he was appointed Male Prefect Captain. Undiscouraged, Delvon pressed forward, his diligence paying off as he obtained nine Bahamas Junior Certificate subjects. Upon his departure, Delvon enrolled into Temple Christian High School. Once again his goal was to become Head Boy and to improve academically, socially, athletically, and spiritually. He believed that having capable teachers and an environment where he could grow closer to God was the right combination for what he wanted to achieve.
As a 10th grader, he immersed himself in school life—joining the Key Club, Debate Club, Eco-Club, Culinary Club, Student Christian Movement, Business Club, School Choir, and both the track and field and volleyball teams. These experiences helped him refine his leadership skills and build meaningful relationships with peers and mentors.
In Grade 11, he stepped further into leadership, serving as Vice-President of the Business Club, Secretary of the Eco-Club, and Assistant Secretary of the Key Club. His conduct and commitment earned him a reputation as a well-mannered and respectable student leader. His long-held dream of becoming Head Boy was fulfilled in his final year—a testament to his perseverance and character.
He now prepares to sit 9 B.G.C.S.Es and looks forward to attaining all of them.
Beyond academics, Delvon is a dedicated athlete who specializes in the 110m and 400m hurdles, and is constantly working to improve his technique. He is also an active member of his church’s youth group and Rebirth Youth Ministries at Evangelistic Temple.
Through every stage of his journey, Delvon has learnt to stay humble and focused, making a new attempt every day to become the best version of himself. He lives by the words of John C. Maxwell: “ A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.”
We extend a warm and hearty welcome to Temple Christian School, where educational excellence meets Christian values. For over four decades, our institution has been a beacon of high-quality Christian education in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
