A Seasoned Educator and Leader Joins the School Community
Temple Christian High School is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Patrick B. Rutherford Jr. as the interim Dean of Students. This significant addition to our leadership team marks a new chapter for our school as we continue our commitment to fostering academic excellence and holistic development for all students.
Mr. Rutherford brings a strong academic foundation to his new role. He holds a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education, earned in 1993, and possesses full teacher certification. Furthering his commitment to professional and spiritual growth, Mr. Rutherford completed a Master of Arts in Ministry in 2025, equipping him with a unique perspective that blends educational expertise with values-based leadership.
With over 12 years of teaching experience across several schools and multiple grade levels, Mr. Rutherford has demonstrated a steadfast dedication to nurturing and inspiring students. His diverse classroom background has provided him with valuable insights into different learning environments and the needs of young people at varying stages of their educational journey.
Beyond his extensive classroom experience, Mr. Rutherford has devoted 25 years to leadership in both school and church settings. His roles have involved guiding teams, developing programs, and mentoring both students and colleagues, evidencing a deep commitment to service and personal growth within educational and faith-based communities.
Mr. Rutherford is also an ordained Pastor, reflecting his dedication to character development and spiritual mentorship. Additionally, as an FIVB Certified volleyball coach, he has encouraged teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition among students, further enriching the extracurricular life of every school he has served.
Mr. Rutherford is a devoted family man who has been happily married for over thirty years. He and his spouse have raised three adult children who have embarked on their own paths, and they continue to enjoy the lively company of their youngest, a school-age child. His deep commitment to family values is reflected in his warm and supportive approach to his professional role.
Mr. Rutherford’s character, extensive training, and broad experience make him an outstanding choice for Dean of Students at this pivotal moment in our school’s journey. His appointment comes at a timely juncture, offering the leadership and vision needed to support our students, staff, and wider school community as we look ahead to new opportunities and challenges.
