The Suns took to the track over 3 days of competition at the 2024 B.A.I.S.S. Track & Field competition. Well-represented by a strong contingent of athletes on day one, TC’s Ariel Thompson and Shiloh Augustine won gold in the U13 Girls 400m and U13 Boys long jump respectively. In addition, Brayniece Kemp, Jasmine Thompson and Laquann Sands all won silver medals in the U17 Girls high jump, U17 Girls 400m and U13 Boys 1500m respectively. Finally, Michal Bullard, Melody Smith, and Kadaiah Gilbert achieved bronze finishes in the U20 Girls 400m, U13 Girls high jump, and U17 Boys discus respectively. At the conclusion of Day One, Temple Christian sat in third place with 159 points.
On day two of the competition, Terrinique Rolle, Shiloh Augustine and Ross Martin won gold in the U13 Girls Shot Put, U13 Boys 100m and U20 1500m respectively, while Nathan Burrows captured a silver medal in the U13 Boys high jump. In addition, Ariel Thompson, Kayden Rolle, and Katelyn Miller achieved bronze finishes in the U13 Girls Long Jump, U13 Boys Shot Put, and U17 Girls Triple Jump respectively.
On the final day of competition, Giovanni Hamilton, Yeindera Martin, Angelique Dean and Ross Martin won gold in the U13 Boys Javelin, U13 Girls 800m, U17 Girls High Jump, and U20 Boys 5000m respectively while Tieano Ferguson was a double gold medalist in the U17 Boys 400m Hurdles and 800m. Ariel Thompson, Ramonique McLennon, Breck Kemp and Jason Ferguson captured silver medals in the U13 Girls 800m, U17 Girls 800m, U20 Boys 800m and U17 Boys 800m respectively. Finally, TCS achieved bronze finishes in the U17 Girls 4x100m and U17 Boys 4x400m Relays, in addition to bronzes won by Lquon Sands, Michal Bullard, and Ross Martin in the U13 Boys 800m, U20 Girls 800m, U20 Boys 800m respectively. Finishing firmly in third place, we increased our point total over last year’s competition by more than 100 points!
We are thankful to God for his enabling our success, and are extremely proud of all athletes who participated by running, jumping, throwing or hurdling at this year’s meet. Temple Christian would also like to that the staff, parents, alumni and friends of TC who worked, supported, fed, comforted, cheered and encouraged our young athletes. You were all amazing!
